I've put this little piece together for all
of my friends and clients who ask about New Orleans' famous restaurants.
The restaurants are listed by my preference it's my list and I
ranked them as the mood struck me.
Just a couple of special hints:
1) Where you see a note to make reservations, that means make
them well before you leave home.
2) If you can't figure out how to get to the restaurant, call
and ask if you should take a taxi. You don't want to get lost
in some areas of New Orleans.
P.S. Bring the kids for the river boats, the best zoo in America,
our aquarium and a street car ride down St. Charles for lunch
at Camellia Grill.

It doesn't take much to impress me with dessert and New Orleans has a
number of great dishes. There is not much to compare with Bananas Foster
at Brennan's or The Bon Ton's Bread Pudding or the Pecan Pie at Camellia
Grill and no one should miss the Beignets at Cafe du Monde but one is
my favorite, it alone is worth the trip to New Orleans...Mile-High
Ice Cream Pie at...
Pontchartrain Hotel Coffee Shop, 2031 St. Charles
Avenue (505) 524-0581
Take the street car from St. Charles and Canal and ask
the driver to let you off at the Pontchartrain Hotel.
